Vulnificus “Invocation” EP (Independent)

Little have I heard about this band formed by American two multi-instrumentalists in the past, so having them in the list for reviews was something that made me feel in the mood of a good amount of brutality. Invocation is the second work released by these guys who enerbolate the flag of Brutal Death Metal.What can we find here? Well, early Suffocation influences, mixed with some of the more modern BDM sound. Invocation brings us five tracks that have an old sound, even in the mix, but that it is, especifically, that sound the one that does not allow us to enjoy it the way we could have done. On the other hand, even though it is noticeable how well both members know what they are doing and that they complement each other, there are certain aspects that they could have done better, and being honest and straightforward, I am talking about their solos, bass guitar ones are the most noticeable to be improved. I am not saying this is a bad production, but after what I heard of them before and the expectation that this generated, I consider that this production could have been better.

Poco había oído hablar de esta banda formada por dos multiinstrumentistas Estadounidenses en el pasado, por lo que tenerlos en la lista de reseñas fue algo que me hizo sentir con una buena dosis de brutalidad. Invocación es el segundo trabajo editado por estos chicos que enerbolan la bandera del Brutal Death Metal. Qué podemos encontrar aquí? Bueno, las primeras influencias de Suffocation, mezcladas con algo del sonido BDM más moderno. Invocation nos trae cinco temas que tienen un sonido antiguo, incluso en la mezcla, pero que es, precisamente, ese sonido el que no nos permite disfrutarlo como podríamos haberlo hecho. Por otro lado, aunque se nota lo bien que ambos integrantes saben lo que hacen y que se complementan, hay ciertos aspectos que podrían haber hecho mejor, y siendo honestos y directos, hablo de sus solos, los de bajo son los que más se notan mejorables. No digo que sea una mala producción, pero después de lo que escuché de ellos antes y la expectativa que generó, considero que esta producción podría haber sido mejor.
