1. Hello Tarant, what was the driving force behind giving birth to this project? You have had experience with other bands before?
HI Guys, Hi ROTTEN PAGES. Yes, before starting the Tarant project, I was part of another band, which, after a period of hiatus, completely stopped.
After some time, I decided to form a project following only my own inspirations.
The Tarant project was officially born in 2024, but some of the material for the first EP had already been previously recorded in 2021.
2. First of all, congrats on your debut album “Laudensem Rupem Statuit Fredericus in Urbem". I can safely deduct that you´re pleased by this release. What effect has this album’s reception on you? How do you fell about it?
I'm satisfied with what I'm achieving with this project. With LAUDENSEM RUPEM STATUIT FRESERICUS IN URBEM, I kicked off this experience of mine, and I can say I'm satisfied with being able to express myself through TARANT.
3. How does look like creating process of your music? I imagine such music as a really deep and personal opus of one mind. As for the lyrics, I let my imagination run wild, and I try to immerse myself in the historical context of the medieval period, including myths and legends related to the historical events and figures of that period.
4. Describe us, if possible, your typical procedure when writing songs: What comes first, really? Music or lyrics?
I personally start with the musical composition and then dedicate myself to writing the lyrics. I prefer to be inspired by music so I can give free rein to my imagination when writing lyrics.

5. What is music for you? Does it bring you some new emotions or it helps you to get ride of some negative emotions?
Music is truly a great passion for me; it's always been a part of my life, and I continue to be enthusiastic about living with this passion. It's a great way to express and identify with yourself.
6. Tarant is a solo project band with you performing everything. Why are you alone in this and how hard it is for you? Or it is easier to go this way in order to realize all your ideas without someone else to interfere?
No, personally, being alone gives me full control of the project. Since Tarant was born of my own will, being alone allows me to have all the time I need to compose, without having to depend on other external decisions.
I can follow my own pace and manage the project without having to answer to anyone.
7. Black metal as a genre has been considered a philosophy by some, while some others consider it an avenue to express their anti-religious sentiments. What are your views on black metal as a whole?Personally, in black metal, I've found the space to fully express myself.
For me, it's both a philosophy and a search for expression. You immerse yourself completely in this genre and it allows you to give voice to your inner self.
8. Have you ever considered enlisting members to handle the various instruments in order to perform live, and if not, why not?
No, the idea of bringing members into the project to play live isn't a priority for me right now. Now I prefer to focus solely on the project.
9. You are unsigned this period of time. There are many bands that prefer to be independent without following the specific rules of the labels. What is your opinion about this?
I'm currently working with Black Label Industry, with whom I already collaborated on my first album.
An independent Greek underground label, with whom I'm collaborating on the upcoming release of my second album. I'm really happy to continue collaborating with them; they're truly passionate and knowledgeable. Everyone else does what they think is best for them.
10. With the easy access to internet you can spread your music across the globe just sitting in front of your computer. How much effort to you put into promoting the band world-wide?
We now live in the internet age. Today, it's definitely necessary to spread the word online to promote your project. The internet is a meeting point for everyone.
I use the most common platforms: YouTube, Bandcamp, and Instagram.
11. What is the heavy music scene like in North of Italy? What are some other bands from your country that we should be paying attention to?
There are so many great bands and acts out there. The underground always has a lot to offer. I recently discovered some really good projects through nycticorax productions & distro. Another really interesting underground act.
I personally can recommend: A band that recently released their first album is OBSCURA DOMINI with Sepulchral Echoes Beneath the Withered Sky. Excellent melodic black metal.
I know them personally, and they're truly passionate people.
12. Many thanks again for your valuable time! I wish you only the best! The last words to our readers are of course yours!
Thanks to you and all the staff for your availability and interest. Greetings to all the METALHEADS. Let's turn up the volume. The dark army of TARANT is on the march.
